Permit Policy & Transportation Governing Committee Meets This Week

- The Permit Policy Committee and the Transportation Governing Committee met for their annual summer workshop this week at SC&RA headquarters and were joined by CVSA Deputy Executive Director Adrienne Gildea, Maryland DOT officials Tina Sanders and Virginia DMV official Brandi Thorpe, and ATA/Trucking Association Executives Council Director John Lynch. Topics discussed included permit harmonization, mobile crane weighing, and non-divisible loads. The group reported progress on 2024’s top priority states: California, Kansas, Massachusetts, Oklahoma and Tennessee. In addition, Brian Mazzella, Crane Service Co. Inc., Upper Marlboro, Md., brought a Liebherr LTM 1090-4.2 110-ton mobile crane for a live demonstration and discussion with Virginia DMV officials concerning the proper way to weigh mobile cranes.
